Red Wine Glasses

Red wine glasses come in three distinct shapes designed to release the tastes and aromas. While white wine glasses will have smaller bowls to maintain chilled temperatures, a red wine glass is typically taller with a larger bowl. Red wine needs a larger surface area to breathe and soften, so glass or crystal red wine glasses are made with this in mind. A large Bordeaux glass is the classic choice for bolder full-bodied red wines thanks to its larger surface area and wider opening. If you need a Shiraz glass, standard red wine glasses with tapered rims and smaller openings help to release flavours more progressively. Alternatively, a Bourgogne glass is well suited to lighter and more delicate red wines.
