Using a counter freezer is a practical way for smaller commercial kitchens to maximise all available space. Combining frozen storage with a sturdy and hygienic work surface, a countertop freezer guarantees fast and efficient meal prep with frozen ingredients kept within easy reach. These freezers are particularly useful in kitchens with limited fitted work surfaces.

Although sometimes referred to as a benchtop freezer, these units are not designed to be placed on a bench top. They are large heavy duty freezers fitted with castor wheels for positioning on the floor. A countertop freezer instead gets its name from the built-in stainless steel work surface on top of the unit. A counter fridge provides a similar chilled solution or, for kitchens with adequate benchtops already fitted, an under counter freezer will make full use of any available floor space.
